Politics Rootz is a machine-readable database of US elected officials and candidates — from town clerk to president. Every record carries origin provenance: a cryptographic proof of which source it came from and when it was captured.
Every read endpoint below is open. Paste any URL into a browser, curl, or an AI assistant and it returns structured JSON.

Political data is only as good as its sourcing. Every record we publish is bound to a proof of where it came from — the source URL, the capture timestamp, and a content hash. When a record changes, the prior version is retained rather than overwritten, so the history of change stays auditable.
This is the difference between a claim and a measurement. We do not ask you to trust our numbers; we hand you the provenance and let you decide whether it is sufficient.

Politics Rootz is politically neutral by construction. Every party, every candidate, every level is indexed on the same terms with the same collection methodology. We publish records and their provenance; we do not rank, endorse, score ideology, or editorialize. Where a scoring signal exists (such as AI-readability), the methodology is published at /api/methodology.
There is no hard rate limit and no key to apply for. We ask that automated clients keep to a
reasonable request rate, identify themselves with a descriptive user agent, and use
politics_bill_toc to page into long documents rather than pulling entire bill texts
speculatively. Sustained abusive traffic may be throttled at the edge.
If you are an official or candidate and a record about you is wrong, visit /claim to claim and correct it, or email support@rootz.global. Corrections are versioned like any other change — the original stays in the archive with its origin proof intact.
